Carrick omitted from England squad Switzerland Opponent

Michael Carrick should be thrown out of England squad against Switzerland on Saturday (04/6/2011) since suffering an injury during Manchester United's defending in the last Champions League final match.

Carrick became the starter when Manchester United defeated Barcelona last weekend, he pulled out and replaced Paul Scholes in the 77th minute due to suffering a back injury.

Actually, the 30-year-old midfielder had been to the Three Lions training camp on Monday. But, after examined by team doctors, he was forbidden to take exercise. Even he had to get out of training camp to undergo treatment with the team his club doctors.

Fabio Capello himself would not call one another midfielder to replace Carrick. He had enough stock in midfield and chances are Jack Wilshere, Scott Parker and Frank Lampard will be installed as a starter.
